THE YES WAY

THE YES WAY

Virgin Music: “Tickled triplets and melodious vocals converge for Brooklyn’s The Yes Way. Combining a bluesy drawl and a Thom Yorke-esque hum, their latest single ‘Falter’ will likely be the night’s favorite. Shifting manically – yet seamlessly – from the flowing ballad to the staccato-note barrage, The Yes Way is unwilling to accept no for an answer and the crowds couldn’t be happier.”

Metromix New York: “Capable of exhilarating moments, this indie Brooklyn rock band creates not a wall of sound but a tower—a musical minaret of sorts… in total The Yes Way is polished, energetic and appropriately noisy.”

The Deli Magazine: “The Yes Way offer us pleasant-but-eerie melodic rock with punk attitude, where peppy-pop melodies are hybridized with indie elements. Distortion ebbs and flows (sans shoegazing) with sauntering beats, playful guitar strums and uplifting vocal harmonies abound. By incorporating different sonic elements – guitar riffs blended with smooth harmonies, heavy instrumentation carried by emotional vocals – this band has an admirable track list to offer. ”

CMJ: “solid drum kick outs and elastic guitar swarms with kinetic flare”

Midpoint Music Festival: “spacious, artfully-crafted indie rock heavy on off-kilter melodies and light on trend-chasing.”

ScoutMob: “The Yes Way’s moody melodies roll out over surprisingly rich instrumentation; it’s deep, but controlled. Distortion never turns into a haze, and the wandering vocals always resolve to polished, energetic climaxes.”

blueblog: “But it’s The Yes Way who seemed most primed for stardom during their set last Friday. With a sound that borders on the intimate and retrospective elements of Radiohead, to the easily digested guitar riffs and smooth vocals, The Yes Way appeared nearly radio ready in a venue rife with nods to the past or grabs at the future.”

blaqbook: “…been ranting and raving about these guys for a few weeks now. The lighting was perfect, the venue was packed, the music was awesome… ALL the recipes to an amazing set. I agree 100%! This band is awesome!”

The Culture Of Me: “In this over-mediated, completely saturated terrain we all consider our lives, it’s shockingly hard-pressed to find an act that’s absent of even a marginal amount of weaselly self-importance. Putting all that is righteous and admirable about the craft of songwriting into their indie rock blender, The Yes Way create a medium-fi (trademark), moody, not-quite-pop mixture of expansive guitars, snapping drums and shape-shifting vocal harmonies.”

We All Make Music Magazine: “The Yes Way’s music displays promise – their songs “Mets and “Where Was I” are tightly threaded with ’90s influences like Pablo Honey-era Radiohead and Gentlemen-era Afghan Whigs.”

The Downtown Diaries: “This is music that takes you on a journey, music to get lost in, a soundtrack that belongs in moments of introspection and moments where life evolves. The Yes Way is a progressive tour de force with a lush, sonic landscape so powerful- that this just might be the next band worthy of a movement.”

QRO Magazine: There were some forgettable acts of the night but The Yes Way wasn’t one of them… it is still hard to pick of genre for the group – other than ‘rock’ – but they do it well.
